Students with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher (orally) will be sent home. To prevent the spread of communicable disease, ill students must be fever free and symptom free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before returning to school.
If your child is not feeling well - monitor their temperature. Remember to take their temperature before giving medication. If you give Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil (ibuprofen) their temperature will appear to go away - because these medications are fever reducers. This does not mean your child is fever free. The fever must be done below 100 degrees for 24 hours without the use of medication before they considered fever free.
